How to Set Up Call Forwarding for RCS
Set up call forwarding for your Android phone when using RCS messaging.
NOTE: Call forwarding only forwards voice calls. It does not forward RCS messages. RCS messages remain associated with the original phone number, device, Google Messages, carrier, and internet connection.
What Happens When Call Forwarding Is Enabled
When call forwarding is enabled:
- Voice calls can be forwarded to another phone number.
- RCS messages will continue to be received through Google Messages on the original device.
- RCS messages will not automatically be forwarded to the destination phone.
- Call forwarding does not send RCS conversations to HighLevel, Twilio, LeadConnector, or myCRMSIM.
For example:
Voice Call:
Phone A → Call Forwarding → Phone B
RCS Message:
Phone A → Google Messages / RCS
With Your Carrier
You can normally enable call forwarding through your mobile carrier.

You can normally enable call forwarding through your mobile carrier.
How this is done depends on the carrier you use, and some carriers may charge a fee for forwarded calls.
We recommend contacting your carrier directly to confirm whether call forwarding is available and whether any additional charges apply.

Directly on the Android Device
If you wish to enable call forwarding on your Android device, you can do so by following these steps:
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Select Supplementary Services or Calling Accounts, depending on your device.
- Select Call Forwarding.
- Select the forwarding option you want to use.
- Enter the phone number to which you want your calls forwarded.
- Tap Enable.
Important: These steps may vary depending on your Android device and mobile carrier.

RCS Messages Cannot Be Forwarded Using Call Forwarding
If your goal is to forward RCS messages, call forwarding is not the correct solution.
RCS messaging does not follow voice call forwarding. Enabling call forwarding will not cause RCS conversations to appear on the forwarded-to phone or automatically send them to HighLevel or myCRMSIM.
If you need RCS messages to appear in your CRM, use the supported myCRMSIM RCS setup instead.

Alternative to Call Forwarding
If call forwarding is not available or you do not want to use it, you can provide callers with an alternative method for contacting your business.
For example:
"Hi, this is Company XYZ. This number is used exclusively for texting. If you would like us to call you back, please send us an SMS or call us directly at our office on XXXXXXXX. Thank you."
