How to Prevent Personal Messages from Appearing in Your CRM

If you're using a personal phone or device for SIM routing and want to keep personal contacts (like friends or family) out of your CRM, you can control this easily using the CRM Status toggle in your SIM sub‑account settings.📍 Where to Find the CRM Status Toggle
  1. Go to the Subaccount SIMs section in your myCRMSIM dashboard.

  2. Scroll to the far right of the table for any SIM sub-account.

  3. You’ll see a toggle switch under the CRM Status column.

📴 What Happens When the Toggle Is OFF (Default)
  • Only messages from contacts that already exist in your CRM will appear in the CRM.

  • Messages from unknown numbers (e.g., family, friends, personal messages) will not be pulled into the CRM.

  • This helps prevent private or unrelated messages from accidentally being added to your CRM or triggering automations.

✅ What Happens When the Toggle Is ON
  • All messages will be pulled into your CRM — even those from numbers that are not yet in your contact list.

  • These new contacts will appear in your CRM using just their phone number (no name).

  • You’ll need to decide how to handle unknown contacts in your CRM (see tip below 👇).

🛠️ Pro Tip: Ask for Contact Names Automatically

If you plan to keep the toggle ON, we recommend setting up an automation that:

  • Detects any new contact with a blank name field

  • Sends an automated reply asking for their name

  • Updates the CRM contact record with the name once it's received

This keeps your CRM clean and ensures your contacts are properly labelled.
