How to Assign, Transfer, Change, and Remove SIMs & Devices From Subaccount Or Workspaces

This guide explains how to assign and manage Android SMS SIMs, iMessage devices, WhatsApp devices, RCS devices, and Twilio numbers for a sub-account.
The basic assignment process is:

  1. Connect the first SIM/device and set it as the default.
  2. Add additional SIMs/devices if needed.
  3. Assign additional SIMs/devices to specific users.
  4. Transfer, change, remove, or unassign assignments when required.
Important: The first/default SIM or device is available to the sub-account as the default sender. When a specific SIM/device is assigned to a user, that user-specific assignment takes priority over the default.
1. Android SMS SIM Assignment
Android SMS uses a SIM card. The SIM selected as the Workspace SIM acts as the default SMS sender for the sub-account.
Step 1: Open Subaccount SIM
  1. Log in to your myCRMSIM Dashboard.
  2. Go to Subaccount SIM.
  3. Find the sub-account you want to configure.
  4. In the SIM Card column, click the orange (+) button.
The Assign SIMs modal will open.
Step 2: Set the First SIM as the Default
When setting up the sub-account for the first time, select the SIM that should be used as the Workspace SIM.
  1. In the Assign SIMs modal, locate Workspace SIM.
  2. Click the dropdown.
  3. Select the SIM you want to use as the default.
  4. Save the configuration.
This SIM will be used for SMS whenever a user does not have a specific SIM assigned.
Example
Workspace SIM → Jazz SIM
This means the Jazz SIM is the default SMS sender for the entire sub-account.
Important: The Workspace SIM is not restricted to a single user. It acts as the default SIM for the entire sub-account.
Step 3: Assign Additional SIMs to Users
Once the default SIM is configured, additional SIMs can be assigned to specific users.
Example
  • Workspace SIM → SIM 1
  • User A → SIM 2
  • User B → SIM 3
To assign a SIM:
  1. Open the Assign SIMs modal.
  2. Click Assign New SIM.
  3. Select the User.
  4. Select the SIM.
  5. Click Assign.
  6. Repeat the process for additional users as needed.
Each user can have a specific SIM assigned to them.
If a user does not have a specific SIM assigned, the Workspace SIM will be used.

2. Transfer/Reassign an Android SIM

You can transfer a SIM from one user to another without changing the Workspace SIM.
Example
Current assignment:
User A → SIM 2
You want to move SIM 2 to User B.
Steps
  1. Open Subaccount SIM.
  2. Click the (+) button in the SIM Card column.
  3. Find the existing user assignment.
  4. Click the Delete/Unassign icon.
  5. Confirm the removal by clicking Yes.
  6. Click Assign New SIM.
  7. Select User B.
  8. Select SIM 2.
  9. Click Assign.
The SIM is now assigned to User B.
3. Change the Default Android SIM
To change the default SIM for the entire sub-account:
  1. Open Subaccount SIM.
  2. Click the (+) button under SIM Card.
  3. Open the Workspace SIM dropdown.
  4. Select the new SIM.
  5. Save the configuration.
The newly selected SIM becomes the default SMS sender for the sub-account.
Note: Changing the Workspace SIM does not remove existing user-specific SIM assignments. Users with a specific SIM assigned will continue using their assigned SIM.

4. Remove an Android SIM Assignment
To remove a user-specific SIM assignment:
  1. Open Subaccount SIM.
  2. Click the (+) button under SIM Card.
  3. Find the user's SIM assignment.
  4. Click the Delete/Unassign icon.
  5. Confirm by clicking Yes.
The SIM will no longer be specifically assigned to that user.
If the user does not have another SIM assigned, the Workspace SIM will be used for that user.
Important: Removing an assignment does not delete or disconnect the physical Android device or SIM from myCRMSIM. It only removes the SIM assignment from the user/sub-account.
iMessage uses a connected iMessage device rather than an Android SIM.
The first connected iMessage device should be configured as the default device for the sub-account. Additional iMessage devices can then be assigned to specific users.
Step 1: Open iMessage Device Assignment
  1. Go to Subaccount SIM.
  2. Find the required sub-account.
  3. In the iMessage column, click the (+) button.
  4. The Assign iDevice modal will open.
Step 2: Set the First iMessage Device as Default
  1. Locate the first connected iMessage device.
  2. Assign it to the sub-account.
  3. Set it as the Default device.
  4. Save the configuration.
This device will be used as the default iMessage sender when a user does not have a specific iMessage device assigned.
Step 3: Assign Additional iMessage Devices to Users
After the default iMessage device has been configured, additional devices can be assigned to individual users.
Example
  • Default iMessage Device → Device 1
  • User A → Device 2
  • User B → Device 3
To assign a device:
  1. Open Assign iDevice.
  2. Select the User.
  3. Select the iMessage Device.
  4. Click Assign.
Repeat the process for each additional user.
When a specific iMessage device is assigned to a user, that device is used for the user's messages
6. Transfer/Reassign an iMessage Device
To transfer an iMessage device from one user to another:

  9. Click Assign.
The device is now assigned to User B.
7. Change the Default iMessage Device
If multiple iMessage devices are available:
  1. Open Assign iDevice.
  2. Locate the device you want to set as the default.
  3. Select the appropriate Default option/radio button.
  4. Save the assignment.
The selected device becomes the default iMessage device for the sub-account.
Note: Changing the default device does not remove existing user-specific assignments. A user with a specific device assigned will continue using their assigned device.

8. Remove an iMessage Device Assignment
To remove an iMessage device assignment:
  1. Open Assign iDevice.
  2. Find the device/user assignment.
  3. Click the Delete/Unassign icon.
  4. Confirm by clicking Yes.
The device will no longer be assigned to that user.
Important: Removing the assignment does not delete the iMessage device from the myCRMSIM Devices page. It only removes the device assignment from the sub-account/user.

9. WhatsApp Device Assignment
WhatsApp uses a connected WhatsApp device. The first connected WhatsApp device should be configured as the default device for the sub-account. Additional WhatsApp devices can then be assigned to specific users.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp Device Assignment
  1. Open the Subaccount SIM page.
  2. Find the required sub-account.
  3. In the WhatsApp column, click the (+) button.
  4. The Assign WhatsApp Device modal will open.

  2. Select the WhatsApp device/number from the list.
  3. Select the radio button to set it as the Default WhatsApp device.
  4. Save/confirm the assignment.
This device becomes the primary/default WhatsApp sender for the sub-account.
Step 3: Assign Additional WhatsApp Devices to Users
Once the default WhatsApp device is configured, additional WhatsApp devices can be assigned to specific users.
Example

To disconnect all active WhatsApp sessions:
  1. Open the WhatsApp device assignment modal.
  2. Click the orange Force Logout icon (door icon) next to the assigned device.
  3. In the confirmation pop-up, “Force Logout All Sessions? This will immediately disconnect all active WhatsApp sessions”, click Force Logout.
Important Note on Force Logout
Force Logout immediately disconnects the WhatsApp Web/API session and detaches the device from the active WhatsApp connection.
A fresh QR code scan is required to reconnect the device to the system.
Important: Force Logout is different from permanently deleting a device. To permanently remove a device from myCRMSIM, delete it from the relevant Devices page.
14. RCS Device Assignment
RCS uses a connected Android device with RCS enabled. The first connected RCS device should be configured as the default device for the sub-account. Additional RCS devices can then be assigned to specific users.
Important: An Android device used for myCRMSIM RCS cannot be used simultaneously for myCRMSIM SMS.
Step 1: Connect the RCS Device
Before assigning an RCS device:
  1. Go to Devices → RCS Devices.
  2. Make sure the RCS device is connected successfully.
  3. Verify that RCS is enabled on the device.
  4. Go to Subaccount SIM.
Step 2: Assign the First RCS Device
  1. Find the required sub-account.
  2. In the RCS column, click the (+) button.
  3. The RCS device assignment window will open.

The device will be unassigned from that user.
If the user does not have another RCS device assigned, the default RCS device will be used.
18. Twilio Number Assignment
Twilio uses phone numbers rather than physical SIMs or connected devices. The first available Twilio number should be configured as the default number for the sub-account. Additional Twilio numbers can then be assigned to specific users.
Step 1: Assign the First Twilio Number
  1. Open Subaccount SIM.
  2. Find the required sub-account.
  3. In the Twilio Numbers column, click the (+) button.
  4. The Twilio Number assignment window will open.
  5. Select the first available Twilio number.
  6. Set it as the Default number.
  7. Save the assignment.
This number becomes the default Twilio sender for the sub-account.
Step 2: Assign Additional Twilio Numbers to Users
Once the default Twilio number is configured, additional Twilio numbers can be assigned to specific users.
Example
  • Default Twilio Number → Twilio Number 1
  • User A → Twilio Number 2
  • User B → Twilio Number 3
To assign a number:
  1. Open the Twilio Number assignment window.
  2. Select the User.
  3. Select the Twilio Number.
  4. Click Assign.
  5. Repeat the process for additional users as needed.
Each Twilio number can be assigned as a separate sender for the assigned user.

To remove a Twilio number from a user:
  1. Open the Twilio Number assignment window.
  2. Find the user's number assignment.
  3. Click the Delete/Unassign icon.
  4. Confirm by clicking Yes.
The Twilio number will be unassigned from that user.
Permanently Remove a Device
Removing or unassigning a device from a user or sub-account does not permanently delete the device from myCRMSIM.
To permanently remove a connected device from the system:
  1. Go to Main → Devices.
  2. Open the relevant device section, such as:
    • Android Devices
    • WhatsApp Devices
    • iMessage Devices
    • RCS Devices
    • or another applicable device section.
  3. Locate the device you want to remove.
  4. Click the Delete/Trash icon.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
  6. The device will be permanently removed from the Devices page and will no longer be available for assignment.
Important: If the device is currently assigned to a sub-account or user, unassign it first where required. Then delete the device from the Devices page to permanently remove it from the system.
Note: Twilio numbers are managed differently because they are phone numbers rather than physical devices. To remove a Twilio number completely, manage it through the applicable Twilio number configuration rather than the physical device sections.
Detaching & Deleting Disconnected Devices

If you have disconnected or logged out of a physical mobile device, but the device still appears as Active or Connected on the dashboard or Devices page, you must first detach it from the sub-account before permanently deleting it.
This process applies to all supported device types, including Android, iMessage, WhatsApp, and RCS devices, where the Detach/Unlink option is available.
How to Detach and Permanently Delete a Device
  1. Navigate to Main → Devices.
  2. Select the appropriate device type tab, such as Android Devices, iMessage Devices, WhatsApp Devices, or RCS Devices.
  3. Locate the required device in the table.
  4. In the SUBACCOUNT column, look for the Unlink/Detach icon (chain with a slash).
  5. Click the Unlink/Detach icon next to the assigned sub-account.
  6. In the confirmation modal, “Detach from sub-account?”, click Detach.
  7. The device will be detached from the sub-account, and its association with the sub-account will be removed.
  8. Once the device has been detached, click the Delete/Remove option to permanently delete the device from the system.
  9. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Important Note on Mobile Disconnection
Note: Logging out or disconnecting the physical mobile device does not automatically remove its association from the myCRMSIM system. If the device is still linked to a sub-account, you must Detach/Unlink it from the Devices page first.
After the device has been successfully detached, you can permanently remove it by deleting it from the Devices page.
Important: The Detach/Unlink → Delete/Remove process is the same for all supported device types where these options are available. However, the exact button names or available actions may vary depending on the device type.

Example of User-Specific Assignments
Suppose a sub-account has three users.
Android SMS
  • Workspace SIM → SIM 1
  • User A → SIM 2
  • User B → SIM 3
iMessage
  • Default → iMessage Device 1
  • User A → iMessage Device 2
  • User B → iMessage Device 3
WhatsApp
  • Default → WhatsApp Device 1
  • User A → WhatsApp Device 2
  • User B → WhatsApp Device 3
RCS
  • Default → RCS Device 1
  • User A → RCS Device 2
  • User B → RCS Device 3
Twilio
  • Default → Twilio Number 1
  • User A → Twilio Number 2
  • User B → Twilio Number 3
In all cases, the default SIM/device/number is used when no specific user assignment exists.
Important Notes

  • Always configure the first SIM/device/number as the default before assigning additional SIMs/devices/numbers to users.
  • A user-specific assignment takes priority over the default assignment.
  • Removing a user assignment does not permanently delete the device.
  • Android SMS uses SIM-based assignment.
  • iMessage, WhatsApp, and RCS use device-based assignment.
  • Twilio uses phone-number-based assignment.
  • An Android device used for RCS cannot be used simultaneously for Android SMS through myCRMSIM.
  • Force Logout disconnects an active session; it should not be treated as the same action as permanently deleting a device.
  • To permanently remove a physical device, delete it from the relevant Main → Devices section.
  • After assigning devices or numbers, verify Message Routing to ensure the correct channel and sender are configured.
  • When a user has a specific sender assigned, that sender takes priority over the sub-account's default sender.
