Can I use an esim instead of a physical sim?
Yes you can use eSims if your phone is compatible.
1. Open Settings: Tap your phone's 'Settings' icon.
2. Select 'About Phone': Scroll down and find 'About Phone.'
3. Look for 'SIM Status': Tap on 'SIM Status' or a similar option.
4. Check for eSIM Support: Look for an eSIM or 'Embedded SIM' mention.
5. No eSIM Mention?: If not listed, your phone might not support eSIM.
6. Still Unsure?: Visit your phone manufacturer's website for more info.
If you want to use an eSim from another country to get a local number from there, this is possible if you can find a carrier from which you can purchase one.
This means you can have a phone in your local country and text from your country to another country with a local number.
i.e. you could purchase an eSim from America when you live in Australia to text the US with a local number while holding the phone in Australia.
To do this you will need
- An eSim-compatible phone
- An eSim from whatever country you wish to send receive
To avoid global roaming charges turn off your cell signal and use Wifi to send the SMS
To purchase an eSIM for use overseas you may need to get a person local in the country to order the eSIM for you as verification can be required.
For the USA we have clients that have been able to purchase eSIMs from Tello while outside of the country - https://tello.com/buy/esim
Please do your own checks before purchasing an eSIM that they are compatible with your phone and will fulfill your requirements as myCRMSIM is not responsible for any operation of eSIM carriers and their plans.
