How to Add and Assign an iMessage Device from HighLevel
This guide explains how to connect a Mac iMessage device to HighLevel, assign it to a HighLevel sub-account, verify the connection, and unassign it when it is no longer required.
The process uses the mySMSGateway integration inside HighLevel and the mySMSGateway desktop application on the Mac.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure that:
- You have access to the required HighLevel sub-account.
- The mySMSGateway integration is available in the HighLevel sidebar.
- The mySMSGateway desktop application is installed on the Mac.
- The Mac is connected to the internet.
- The Mac is signed in and ready to use iMessage.
- You have access to the myCRMSIM management portal.
- The Mac can remain powered on and connected while it is being used as an iMessage gateway.
Important: The Mac must remain awake, powered on, connected to the internet, and running the gateway application for reliable message sending and receiving. Review the desktop application's Prevent Disk Sleep instructions before putting the device into production use.
Part 1: Generate the Connection Token in HighLevel
- Log in to the required HighLevel account.
- Open the required sub-account.
- From the left-hand sidebar, click mySMSGateway.
- If the mySMSgateway Option Is Not Visible
- If you cannot see mySMSgateway in the left sidebar, follow these steps:
- Open App Marketplace from the left sidebar.
- Go to Installed Apps.
- Find: myCRMSIM - SMS, iMessage & WhatsApp
- Click the three-dot menu next to the app.
- Select Uninstall.
- After uninstalling, search for:
- myCRMSIM - SMS, iMessage & WhatsApp
- Install the app again for the required sub-account.
- Refresh the sub-account page if necessary.
- Confirm that the mySMSgateway option is now visible in the left sidebar.
If you are on the mySMSGateway page shown below, go back to the myCRMSIM Dashboard and follow the steps below.

How to Show the Devices Page
- Open the myCRMSIM Dashboard in your browser: mycrmsim.com.
- From the left-side menu, click Settings.
- Under Settings, open the Branding tab.
- Locate the HighLevel mySMSGateway Page section.
- Find the Show Devices toggle.
- Turn the Show Devices toggle ON. When enabled, the toggle will appear blue/purple.
- Click Save All Changes in the top-right corner.
- When the All settings saved! message appears, the setting has been saved successfully.
- Go back to the LeadTalk dashboard: app.leadtalk.io.
- From the left-side menu, click mySMSGateway.
- The Devices page will now be available, with tabs for WhatsApp, iMessage, and Android/SIM.

- Wait for the sub-account connection page to load.
- Open the iMessage tab.
- Click Connect a new Mac.
- A connection window will appear.
- Copy the unique alphanumeric token displayed in the window.

Part 2: Authenticate the iMessage Gateway
- On the Mac, open the mySMSGateway or iMessage Gateway desktop application.
- Locate the TOKEN field.
- Paste the token copied from HighLevel into the field.
- Click Sign In.
- Wait for the application to authenticate the Mac.
- Confirm that the application displays Waiting for Workspace or the appropriate connected status indicators.

Part 3: Assign the Mac Device to the HighLevel Sub-Account
- Return to the HighLevel browser tab.
- Open mySMSGateway → iMessage if it is not already open.
- Locate the Assign an available Mac... dropdown.
- Open the dropdown.
- Select the authenticated Mac from the available devices.
- Click Assign.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
Mac assigned to this sub-account
The Mac is now connected to the selected HighLevel sub-account.

Important: The Assigned Mac Device Is Used as the Default Device
The Mac device assigned to the HighLevel sub-account is automatically used as the default iMessage device for that sub-account.
You do not need to set the device as default separately from the myCRMSIM management portal.
When you assign a Mac from:
HighLevel → mySMSGateway → iMessage
that assigned Mac will be used for iMessage messaging for the selected sub-account.
If you need to use a different Mac, first unassign the currently assigned Mac and then assign the new Mac to the sub-account.
You do not need to set the device as default separately from the myCRMSIM management portal.
When you assign a Mac from:
HighLevel → mySMSGateway → iMessage
that assigned Mac will be used for iMessage messaging for the selected sub-account.
If you need to use a different Mac, first unassign the currently assigned Mac and then assign the new Mac to the sub-account.

Part 4: Verify the Connection
Complete a quick test before using the device for live messaging.
- Confirm that the Mac appears as assigned in HighLevel → mySMSGateway → iMessage.
- Confirm that the Mac is connected and the gateway application is running.
- Confirm that the Mac is signed in to iMessage.
- Send a test iMessage to an internal test contact.
- Confirm that the message is sent successfully.
- Reply to the test message from the recipient's device.
- Confirm that the reply appears in the correct HighLevel conversation.
Important: Do not begin live messaging until both outbound and inbound messaging have been successfully tested.
How to Unassign the Mac
Use this process when the Mac should no longer be connected to the HighLevel sub-account.
Mac unassigned
The Mac will return to the available device pool and can be assigned to another sub-account when required.
- Open the required HighLevel sub-account.
- Click myCRMSIMGateway in the left-hand sidebar.
- Open the iMessage tab.
- Locate the connected Mac.
- Click Unassign next to the device.
- A confirmation window will appear.
- Click Unassign again to confirm.

The Mac will return to the available device pool and can be assigned to another sub-account when required.

Troubleshooting
The Mac Does Not Appear in the Available Device Dropdown
- Confirm that the token was copied correctly.
- Confirm that the token was entered in the Mac application's TOKEN field.
- Confirm that you clicked Sign In.
- Confirm that the Mac application is open and connected to the internet.
- Wait briefly and refresh the HighLevel iMessage tab.
- Confirm that the Mac is not already assigned to another sub-account.
The Token Does Not Work
- Generate a new token by clicking Connect a new Mac in HighLevel.
- Copy the complete token without spaces before or after it.
- Paste the new token into the desktop application.
- Click Sign In again.
- Do not reuse an expired or previously consumed token.
The Mac Is Assigned but Messages Are Not Sending
- Confirm that the Mac is powered on.
- Confirm that the Mac is connected to the internet.
- Confirm that the mySMSGateway application is running.
- Confirm that the Mac is signed in to iMessage.
- Confirm that the Mac is assigned to the correct HighLevel sub-account.
- Send a single internal test message before retrying live messages.
- Check the relevant messaging and device settings if the issue continues.
The Mac Disconnects When Unattended
- Keep the Mac powered on.
- Prevent the Mac from entering sleep mode.
- Follow the desktop application's Prevent Disk Sleep instructions.
- Confirm that the internet connection remains active.
- Confirm that the gateway application remains open.
- Reopen the gateway application if it has been closed.
The Device Cannot Be Unassigned
- Refresh the HighLevel iMessage tab.
- Confirm that you are viewing the correct sub-account.
- Check that the Mac is currently assigned to that sub-account.
- Try the Unassign action again.
- If the issue continues, record the device name and sub-account name before contacting support.
Important Usage Notes
- The assigned Mac is automatically used as the default iMessage device for the HighLevel sub-account.
- The Mac must remain powered on, connected to the internet, and running the gateway application for reliable messaging.
- The Mac should remain signed in to iMessage.
- Always test both outbound and inbound messaging after assigning a Mac.
- Do not share connection tokens with other users.
- Unassign the Mac before moving it to another HighLevel sub-account.
- If you want to use a different Mac, unassign the current Mac and assign the new Mac.
