As long as your phone plan allows for SMS to other countries then it will send to and from other countries.
Please note that additional fees and charges may apply to your phone plan for SMS messages sent to overseas numbers so please ensure that you check your phone plan inclusions.
If sending and receiving SMS to other countries is important to you we recommend getting a SIM plan that is direct with the Telco and not one a reseller.
In our experience, the resellers have lower capacity to send and receive overseas messages and can be less reliable than going direct to the main providers.
These plans are generally a little more expensive than the resellers but if you want to ensure better deliverability and receiving capability it is a better option.
if you can purchase an eSim from another country you can use that to text with a local number from your phone in your local country
i.e you could purchase an eSim from America when you live in Australia to text the US with a local number while holding the phone in Australia.
