How can I get an eSIM for another country?

Most countries have some restriction that requires you to have ID for the country you are in in order to get an eSIM.

This is generally a drivers license and an address.

There are a couple of options that you can use to get an eSIM, especially if it is for a clients account.

Option 1 - Tello

For the USA we have clients that have been able to purchase eSIMs from Tello while outside of the country - https://tello.com/buy/esim

Please do your own checks before purchasing an eSIM that they are compatible with your phone and will fulfil your requirements as myCRMSIM is not responsible for any operation of eSIM carriers and their plans.

We have some directions here for purchasing and setting up Tello Sims

Option 2 - Get Your Clients ID

If you are setting up a number for a client you can ask them for the ID required and explain to them that you need this in order to verify and setup there SIM.

This is not like A2P, it is simple ID that you need to order the SIM and will allow you to get the eSIM online your self.

This ID will differ from country to country so please check the requirements for your country first before asking for ID from a client

In some cases you may need to use a VPN or other to ensure that you can order outside of a country.

Option 3 - Get someone in the country to order for you

If you have someone in the country you want an eSIM for they may be able to order the eSIM for you and then you can connect to it with a QR code at login if you screen share with them as they go through the process and link it to your phone.

How do I not get charged for global roaming?

In order to not get charged for global roaming the eSIM should allow for calls over the internet.

This way you can disable cell signal and keep wifi enabled and you should be able to send SMS via WIFI

Make calls over Wi-Fi

In some cases, you can call people over a Wi-Fi connection instead of a mobile carrier. Not all carriers support calls over Wi-Fi.

Before you can make calls over Wi-Fi, you'll need to turn on the feature in your settings.

Important: Some of these steps only work on Android 6.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Turn on Wi-Fi calling

Important: You may incur additional charges for making calls over Wi-Fi, so check with your mobile service provider for details.

Use a mobile carrier’s Wi-Fi calling

  1. Open the Phone app .
  2. Tap More   Settings.
  3. Tap Calls.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi calling. If you don't see this option, it’s because your carrier doesn’t support this feature.

Place a call using Wi-Fi

Once you’ve set up Wi-Fi calling, you can make a call over Wi-Fi just like any other call. When you’re connected to the internet, you’ll see "Internet Call" or "Wi-Fi calling" on the notification screen.

When you're not connected to Wi-Fi, your calls will use your mobile carrier, if you have one.
