Can I use my Existing Number with myCRMSIM?
However, we strongly recommend using a separate number dedicated solely to your myCRMSIM activities.
Here's why and why it matters:
If anything goes wrong, for example, you accidentally send out a mass SMS blast, your number could get flagged or blocked by carriers. This could severely impact your communication channels.
If it's your main business line, this disruption could be a major issue.
⚠️ SIM Card Blocking Is Real
In cases where a SIM card is blocked, recovery may be possible, but not always guaranteed. Losing access to a key number, especially one tied to a long-standing business, could damage client trust and business operations.
If you're setting up myCRMSIM for a client and decide to use their existing number, it's crucial to:
- Explain the risks clearly to your customer
- Ensure they understand not to use their number for mass texting or marketing blasts. (If that is required get a seperate number which can easily be done with our multi sim function)
- Recommend using an existing number solely for appointment reminders, notifications or conversational SMS.
Setting up a new number for your myCRMSIM account provides a clean slate and a layer of protection. It allows you to:
- Test campaigns and automations freely.
- Separate your CRM communications from personal or core business lines.
- Quickly swap out numbers if issues arise, without major impact.
In summary: while using an existing number is possible, the smart move is to use a separate, dedicated number with your myCRMSIM account.
Using your personal number
If you do decide to use your personal number in the Sub-account Sim settings you can select whether or not to Automatically create new contacts for messages received from people that are not in your CRM.
By having this turned off then personal messages will not come into your CRM.

Sample Contract Clause Insert
If a client does use their own number you may like to consider utilising the below clause to add to your contract agreements.
NOTE: This is not a legal document and offered as suggestive use only
This clause applies where the Client elects to use their own existing phone number (“Existing Number”) in connection with the services provided by {AGENCY-NAME} via the mySMSGateway platform.
The Client acknowledges that use of an Existing Number carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Possible carrier blocks or number restrictions.
Potential service disruption resulting from messaging activity.
Limited support options in case of number-related issues.
{AGENCY-NAME} recommends that the Client use a separate, dedicated number provisioned specifically for use with mySMSGateway to mitigate the risks outlined above.
If the Client chooses to use their Existing Number for messaging, automation, or campaign activities through mySMSGateway:
The Client assumes full responsibility for any consequences, including loss of access or reputational damage.
The Client agrees not to engage in high-volume or bulk messaging in violation of carrier or platform guidelines.
{AGENCY-NAME} shall not be held liable for:
Any suspension, restriction, or loss of service to the Existing Number.
Business interruption, loss of data, customer dissatisfaction, or reputational harm resulting from issues affecting the Existing Number.
The Client agrees to fully indemnify and hold harmless {AGENCY-NAME}, its directors, employees, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the Client’s use of an Existing Number in connection with mySMSGateway.
By signing this agreement, the Client confirms:
They understand the risks and limitations of using their Existing Number.
They willingly accept full responsibility for any outcomes arising from this decision.
They release {AGENCY-NAME} from any liability related to the use of the Existing Number.
