How To Create Conversational SMS Messages To Avoid Getting Flagged

Create conversations - NOT Marketing Messages

The content that you send is as important as the cadence and speed that you send messages at.  Your messages should be conversational in nature and encourage responses so that you can communicate with your leads.

In order to help you with this we've already created the myCRMSIM snapshot and now we have created myCRMSIM SMS message buddy. 😀

🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions

🔁 PART 1: Create a Database Reactivation (DBR) Sequence

  1. Launch the SMS Message Buddy Tool

  2. Select Campaign Type

    • Click “What messages would you like to write?”

    • Choose Database Reactivation (DBR).

  3. Answer the Prompts

    • Enter your business name (e.g., Billy’s Brushes).

    • Provide the website URL (e.g., billysbrushes.com).

    • Enter the sender’s name (e.g., Billy).

    • Describe the offer (e.g., “20% off your next order”).

    • Set the offer duration (e.g., “7 days”).

    • Confirm the website link and coupon code (e.g., “20BILLY”).

    • Optional: Add more details about your audience or message goals.

  4. Review the Initial Message Output

    • A short, conversational SMS will be generated.

    • Includes merge tags (e.g., {{contact.first_name}}) for HighLevel.

    • Keeps links out of the first message to encourage replies first (permission-based marketing).

  5. Enable Auto-Reply Workflow

    • Set up a workflow or AI bot in HighLevel to trigger when a user replies "yes" or something similar.

    • This sends the actual offer + link once permission is received.

  6. Create Message Variations

    • Select “Yes please” when prompted to generate 4 variations.

    • Copy and paste these into split paths in your HighLevel workflow.

    • Optionally, ask for 4 more variations to expand rotation.

  7. Extend Split Paths in Snapshot

    • Use your snapshot to duplicate split paths and insert message variations.

    • Helps avoid SIM card flagging due to repeated content.

🔁 PART 2: Create a Follow-Up (Cart Abandonment) Sequence
  1. Restart the SMS Message Buddy

    • Select Follow-Up as your campaign type.

  2. Enter Prompt Details

    • Business name (e.g., Billy’s Brushes).

    • Website URL.

    • Sender’s name.

    • Scenario (e.g., “customer abandoned cart”).

    • Number of follow-ups (e.g., 12 messages).

    • Delivery timing (e.g., mix of daily and weekly).

    • Call-to-action (e.g., “Finish your order and save 20%”).

    • Coupon code (e.g., “20BB”).

  3. Review the Follow-Up Sequence

    • A full 30-day conversational follow-up sequence is generated.

    • Early messages are closer together; later ones spread out.

    • Designed to build trust, include typos, corrections, and reminders to appear more human.

    • Includes built-in nudges like:
      “Quick heads up—want the code?”
Then: “Oops, forgot to mention it’s 20BB 😊”

  4. Optional: Add Variations

    • You may request additional message variations if desired.

  5. Implement in Workflow

    • Copy/paste sequence into your automated HighLevel workflows.

🧠 Best Practices
  • Avoid sending links in the first message. Wait for a reply to ensure compliance and deliverability.

  • Use merge fields to personalize messages.

  • Keep language casual and conversational, not “salesy.”

  • Use message variation to avoid carrier filtering.

  • Always test sequences before scaling.

  • Ask for feedback and share results in the Facebook group!
