Setting Up Your Android Device with MyCRMSIM SMS Gateway

This guide walks you through installing and setting up the myCRMSIM Android app so you can send and receive SMS messages through your connected CRM.

⚠️ Important: Disable RCS when using the myCRMSIM smsgateway app for SMS. Incoming RCS messages cannot be received by the app. Turning off RCS ensures messages fall back to SMS and sync correctly with myCRMSIM and your CRM.

✅ Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure:
- Your HighLevel account is already connected to the myCRMSIM dashboard.
- Your sub-account has been added.
- You have access to your Android device.

🧩 Step 1: Disable Play Protect (IMPORTANT)

⚠️ This is critical — the app may NOT install or function correctly if Play Protect is enabled.

1. Open **Google Play Store**.
2. Tap your **profile icon** (top right).
3. Go to **Play Protect**.
4. Turn **OFF** all Play Protect settings.

📌 Always keep this OFF when installing or updating the app.

🌐 Step 2: Download the App (APK File)

1. Open **Chrome** on your Android device.
2. Enter the following URL: `https://get.mysmsgateway.app`
3. Download the APK file.

📌 If prompted, allow downloads from your browser.

📂 Step 3: Install the App

1. Open the downloaded file.
   - If it doesn't pop up, go to **Files > Downloads**.
2. Tap the APK file.
3. Tap **Install**.

📲 Step 4: Open the App & Create Shortcut

1. Swipe up to view apps.
2. Find the installed app.
3. (Optional) Long press → Drag to home screen.

🔐 Step 5: Allow ALL Permissions

⚠️ This step is essential for the app to work properly.

When opening the app, tap **Allow** for ALL permission requests:
- SMS
- Phone
- Call logs
- Contacts
- Background activity

- Disable Battery Optimisation

📌 The app MUST be allowed to run in the background at all times.

⚙️ Step 6: Enable Required Settings

 **6.1 Allow Restricted Settings**

1. Go to **Settings**.
2. Tap **Apps**.
3. Find the **myCRMSIM app**.
4. Tap the **3 dots** (top right).
5. Select **Allow Restricted Settings**.

 **6.2 Disable App Pausing**

1. In app settings, turn **OFF**:
   - **Pause app activity if unused**.

📌 This ensures the app stays active and continues sending messages.

🔄 Step 7: Log In via QR Code

1. Open the app.
2. Scan QR Code or enter the token to Login

🔗 Step 8: Connect Device in Dashboard

1. Go to **Devices > Android Devices**.
2. Click **Add New Device**.

3. Scan QR Code or enter the token to Login

  • A QR code is displayed on screen — open the myCRMSIM app on your Android device and scan this QR code to log in.
  • Alternatively, you can copy the Token shown below the QR code and use it to log in manually.
4. Once connected:
   - Name your device.
   - Save.
5. Assign the device to your **Sub Account**.

📌 Also ensure SMS is selected in **Message Routing**.

💬 Step 9: Set App as Default SMS App

 ⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT

1. Go to phone **Settings**.
2. Find **Default Apps**.
3. Set **SMS Gateway app** as the **Default SMS app**.

📌 This prevents issues with Google Messages (RCS conflicts).

📶 Step 10: Final App Settings

Inside the app, ensure:
- ✅ **Keep Alive in Background** = ON
- ✅ **Sync Received** = ON

📌 If using Dual SIM, select the correct SIM for sending messages.

🧪 Step 11: Test Messaging

1. Send a test message from your CRM.
2. Confirm:
   - Message sends successfully ✅
   - Reply is received ✅

🔍 Troubleshooting

If messages are NOT sending, check the following:
Issue
Fix
Play Protect is ONTurn OFF
Permissions missingAllow ALL
App paused Disable pause setting
Not default SMS app Set it as default
Device not assigned Check dashboard
No routing selectedEnable SMS routing

📊 Dashboard Monitoring

In your dashboard, check:
- Device status (Active)
- Battery level
- Connection (Wi-Fi / Mobile)
- Permissions status
- Last ping

📌 Any errors here may indicate setup issues.

💡 Pro Tips

- Always keep the app running in the background.
- Do NOT close or optimise the app.
- Use the app for ALL messaging (not your native SMS app).
- For automation, install the **Missed Call Text Back workflow** from the support centre.

**Start Texting!** 💬

We also recommend that you install the **myCRMSIM snapshot** on any sub-account to ensure that Stop on Response / DND is working to stay compliant, as well as utilising other features made for myCRMSIM to operate efficiently.
