RCS Phone Specifications & Requirements

This guide outlines the minimum phone specifications and requirements needed to successfully use RCS (Rich Communication Services) with myCRMSIM.

RCS works differently from SMS and WhatsApp and requires specific device and software conditions.

✅ Device Requirements

📲 1. Android Device (Mandatory)

RCS is supported only on Android devices.
❌ iPhones are not supported for RCS.
❌ Feature phones are not supported.

Recommended:
  • Android 10 or higher
  • Latest Android updates installed

💬 2. Google Messages App (Required)

Your device must use:
👉 Google Messages (Official App)

RCS will not work with:
  • Samsung default Messages (unless RCS enabled and supported)
  • Third-party SMS apps
  • Modified APK versions

Download from the Google Play Store if needed.

🌐 3. Active Internet Connection

RCS requires:
  • Stable Wi-Fi or Mobile Data
  • Continuous internet connectivity

Unlike SMS, RCS does not work without internet.

📶 4. Active SIM Card

  • SIM must be active
  • SIM must support carrier RCS services
  • Phone number must be verified inside Google Messages

⚙️ 5. RCS / Chat Features Must Be Enabled

To verify that RCS (Chat Features) is properly enabled on your Android device:

  1. Open Google Messages.
  2. Tap your Profile Icon (top-right corner).
  3. Go to Messages Settings.
  4. Select RCS Chats (or Chat Features, depending on your app version).
  5. Ensure the toggle is switched:

ON
  1. Confirm the status shows:

Connected
If the toggle is OFF or the status does not show “Connected,” RCS will not function properly.

🔋 6. Device Performance Recommendations
For stable operation:
  • Minimum 3GB RAM (4GB recommended)
  • Good battery health
  • No aggressive battery optimization enabled
  • Background app refresh allowed for Google Messages

    Disable:

      • Battery saver mode (if causing disconnections)
      • App killing or memory cleaner apps

        ☁️ 7. Cloud Operation

        Once paired with myCRMSIM:
        • RCS runs via cloud session
        • Device can be idle
        • RCS Messages continue sending and receiving
        • Phone is required if SMS as a backup is required

        However, if:
        • Google account logs out
        • SIM is removed
        • Internet disconnects for long periods

        RCS may disconnect.

        • Huawei devices without Google Services
