- Open Plans from the left-hand menu.
- Select the Calling tab.
- Locate the WhatsApp section, described as WhatsApp calls from a connected number.
- Find your WhatsApp number in the list. Each row displays the number, its status, and a toggle on the right.
- Turn on the toggle next to the number you want to use for calling.
- A confirmation dialog explains that the number will move to a calling server. Click Move number.
- The row status changes to Moving…, with a message indicating that the move should take about a minute.
- While the move is in progress, sending and receiving messages on that number are temporarily paused. This is expected and should last about a minute.
- When the process finishes, a notification confirms:
[Number] is on the calling server. Calling is on. - Confirm that the row status returns to Connected and that the Calling on counter increases accordingly.

Call Routing works like Message Routing, but it controls the order of backup lines for calls.
- Open Subaccount SIM.
- In the relevant sub-account row, click the Call Routing icon under the CALL ROUTING column.
- In the routing grid, locate the WhatsApp column.
- Tick WhatsApp in the row where you want it to act as a calling line, such as 1 · Primary or 2 · Backup.
- Review the panel at the bottom, When a call can’t be connected, to confirm what will happen if a call fails.
- Click Save.

For more information about routing order, backup lines, and failure rules, see Configure Call Routing.
- Open Contacts from the left-hand menu.
- Select the contact you want to call, such as UZAIR SAEED, and open their profile.
- Confirm that the contact has a valid phone number saved.
- Click the green Call button in the top-right corner of the contact header.
- If multiple WhatsApp numbers have calling enabled in the workspace, the dashboard asks you to select which number should place the call. If only one number is available, the call starts automatically using that number.
- Observe the call status as it changes from Connecting… to Ringing…. A call panel appears in the bottom-right corner, showing the contact's name, WhatsApp channel badge, phone number, and live timer.
- Answer the call and confirm that you can hear the contact through your browser.
- Test the available call controls, including Mute and End call.
- While the call is connected, confirm that the contact header displays On call and the call panel shows the elapsed time, such as 00:15.

- Navigate to Subaccount SIM → Message Logs.
- Set Type to All.
- If you manage multiple numbers or sub-accounts, use the SIM, Subaccounts, or Device ID filters.
- Click Refresh.
- Find the latest entry and verify the call details.
💡 Note: Calls placed through a Mac or an Android SIM appear as CALL over Message from CRM, with the relevant Mac or phone listed as the device. This helps identify which line handled the call.

Once WhatsApp Calling is working, you can automate follow-up actions using workflows.
This can be used as a missed-call notification before sending a follow-up message.
Problem | Suggested Fix |
| The calling toggle will not turn on. | Confirm that a Calling plan is active and that a calling line is available under Plans → Calling. If all lines are in use, purchase more lines or disable calling on another number. |
| The number is stuck on “Moving…”. | Wait about a minute. If the process does not finish, reload the page. The number should return to its previous state, and the reason should appear under Last switch didn’t work. |
| Messages stop sending on that number. | Messaging pauses temporarily while the number moves between servers. Sending and receiving should resume once the move is complete. |
| The Call button does not show a WhatsApp option. | Confirm that the number is assigned to the sub-account under Subaccount SIM → WHATSAPP and that calling is enabled under Plans → Calling. |
| The call fails immediately. | Check the on-screen error message. Also confirm that the contact has a valid phone number and is reachable on WhatsApp. |
| Incoming WhatsApp calls do not ring in the dashboard. | Confirm that the number is assigned to the correct sub-account and that calling is enabled for it. |
| The call does not appear in the CRM. | Enable call webhooks for the workspace and confirm that the webhook payload's type field is CALL. |
| WhatsApp does not take over a failed call automatically. | Add WhatsApp as a backup line under Subaccount SIM → Call Routing. |
- The dashboard is updated to the required version.
- An active Calling plan is available with at least one free calling line.
- The WhatsApp number shows as Connected under Devices → WhatsApp.
- The WhatsApp number is assigned to the correct sub-account under Subaccount SIM → WHATSAPP.
- A default WhatsApp number is configured for the sub-account, where needed.
- Calling is enabled under Plans → Calling → WhatsApp, and the number's status shows Connected.
- The Calling on counter includes the configured number.
- WhatsApp is optionally configured as a backup line under Call Routing.
- A test call has been placed and ended successfully.
- The test call appears in Message Logs with the type CALL over WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Calling now works alongside Android and FaceTime calling as an additional calling option.
If calling does not work as expected, use the troubleshooting section above to verify the Calling plan, number assignment, calling toggle, and Call Routing configuration.
