Where do the device details come from when connecting a phone?

When you connect a device into the dashboard, you might notice that the Name and Sim can be quite different and sometimes it has a generic Telco brand in there. Sometimes it has the actual phone number of the Sim in there which makes it a lot. Easier to identify when you're connecting it to a sub account.


These can always be updated manually in the dashboard once you've connected the device, but if you have several devices connected at the same time, then it can be tricky to understand which device belongs to which sub account.


The information gets pulled directly from the settings in the phone so if these are updated before connecting the phone to as a device, then it will pull in the correct information that you want and can save you from having to update it or not knowing which device belongs to which sub account if you're adding multiple devices at one time, or you have clients adding devices remotely.
